Finance Manager
Ren Austing has been the Finance Director for St. Francis Seraph Ministries since 2011- coincidentally starting on the feast day of St. Francis. He is a CPA with experience as a public accounting auditor, controller for a manufacturing company, and nonprofit accountant and board member. He is inspired by SFSM’s talented team and he strives to be a supportive presence that provides reliable information to stakeholders and insures the smooth deployment of financial resources as needed.
Ren is a sixth generation Cincinnatian deeply invested in the welfare of Cincinnati and its residents, especially those marginalized and is proud to work for SFSM in its role offering connection, hope and help. Ren has a passion for diversity, equity and inclusion which led him to found a sister community relationship between three diverse parishes: one White, one Black, and a community in El Salvador. He has also served on Cincinnati’s Rethinking Racism planning committee and in many social action roles particularly with the Cincinnati Archdiocese and his parish. He was fortunate to participate in a pilgrimage to Assisi and Rome sponsored by the Franciscan Province which brings to life the power of St. Clare and St. Francis’ ministries and the Gospel values showcasing the unity and dignity of all creation, especially the poor and excluded. His favorite hobby is exploring nature via kayak with his college sweetheart, now his wife.
