JOB TITLE: Client Services Coordinator (PM)

REPORTS TO: Food Service Director, St. Francis Seraph Ministries (SFSM), Cincinnati, OH 45202

OVERVIEW:  The Client Services Coordinator acts as a resource navigator, knowing how and where to access social services for our clients who are experiencing homelessness and additional challenges. The Client Services Coordinator is responsible for getting to know clients on a personal level and encouraging them to get connected to community services. In addition, this individual oversees the lobby throughout the afternoon, greeting clients, volunteers, donors, and visitors and providing direction and support, as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet individually with clients to assess their needs and to make the appropriate referrals to nonprofit organizations in Over-the-Rhine and surrounding neighborhoods.
  • Welcome visitors and refer them to the correct location within the St. Anthony Center. Communicate the arrival of deliveries and ensure that they are addressed properly.
  • Greet volunteers and log their hours in a database.
  • During Monday-Friday dinners, specific responsibilities include: Greet clients and enter their names/data into VESTA; provide directions regarding bag check and other lobby procedures; communicate proactively with the security team; assist other staff and volunteers, as needed; and ensure that lobby tables and chairs are cleaned after dinner.
  • Collaborate with the client services coordinator for AM/breakfast in organizing, storing, and distributing items that address client needs.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote materials that provide information on local resources and services available to clients.
  • Assist with management/support tasks for other SFSM programs.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Complete all required data entry, reports, and other assignments in a timely manner.
  • Occasionally work some flexible hours in other program areas.
  • Be available for a flexible work schedule when special events are underway.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  Three to five years of experience in management roles and/or in the nonprofit field is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required. Customer service skills are essential, as is familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Social work experience is a plus. This part-time position is 27.5 hrs./week (M-F, 12:30-6:00pm).

Sewing Instructor

 

JOB TITLE: Sewing Instructor

REPORTS TO: Sarah Center Director at St. Francis Seraph Ministries (SFSM)

POSITION PURPOSE: The mission of SFSM is to nourish and nurture people in need. The Sewing Instructor will teach sewing classes and possibly additional programs within SFSM’s Sarah Center. This is a part-time position (20 hrs./week).

The Sarah Center has a rich history here in Cincinnati. Originally developed as a spiritual empowerment center for women where classes in sewing, jewelry-making, and personal development were offered, the Sarah Center has expanded its services to include specialized sewing courses, including #Stitched# and Stitched 2.0.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach sewing skills to students. Adapt instruction to meet students’ learning needs while maintaining high expectations.
  • Create a vibrant and positive learning environment. Celebrate students’ successes, including completion of the program.
  • Assure students’ compliance with standards for safety, cleanliness, and best practices.
  • Meet regularly with the Sarah Center Director to discuss student progress, curriculum development, employer partnerships, and other topics relevant to the sewing instructor role.
  • Manage and maintain the physical space, supplies, and equipment within the sewing area.
  • Assist with other tasks, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other SFSM staff and programs to support the success of the overall organization.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree preferred, but not required
  • Excellent sewing skills
  • Some teaching experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management and attention to detail
  • Creativity and flexibility
  • Technology skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work flexible hours, when needed
  • Experience in the nonprofit field preferred, but not required
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of SFSM
